We are Black History

With sweat and blood they laid the path

That we now have to walk

Our ancestors they paid the price

While we just talk the talk

But now it's time to shine our light

Go ahead and lead the way

Black history is not one month

We make it every day

Walk in the shoes of those before us

And see which way they've gone

Not one step they took was easy

But they still carried on

Make their shoes your own

Be all you can be

Black history is not a thing

We are black history.
