Poll: Time's up for elected Sheriff's Office

Years of slipshod record-keeping and careless service by the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office left thousands of victims who never saw the money they were owed - about $30 million, in total - after the sheriff auctioned off their foreclosed homes. Need any more evidence that the office should be abolished and merged into other areas of city government?
