Christie ends set-asides for tickets to events
Gov. Christie ordered the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to end so-called holdbacks of tickets for state employees and officials.
Gov. Christie ordered the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to end so-called holdbacks of tickets for state employees and officials.
"The public can now be assured of having the same access to those seats, under the same market conditions, as anyone else," Christie said Thursday in a statement. "The prior policy had been in place for many years and set a bad example."
Christie ordered a review of the set-asides after Bloomberg News reported that the offices of 22 elected officials, including former Gov. Jon S. Corzine, used the Sports and Exposition Authority to secure more than 350 tickets for performances by Bruce Springsteen, U2, and others.
