Dallas was in full meltdown mode, and the Cowboys still managed to pound the Giants over the weekend. Do you think the Plaxico mess continues to haunt New York, or are the Giants maybe not as good as we all thought?

Also, I'd like to welcome Bob back to the fold. Can't believe his vacation is already over.

I don't think it's either/or with the Giants, frankly. There's a switch in every player's head that gets flipped when a game isn't truly a must-win for his team. The Giants knew they were going to the playoffs before kickoff Sunday night. I'm not saying teams don't try in that situation, but the urgency level is just never quite as high.

Even with that, the Giants' defense put Tony Romo through a shredder. It will be interesting to see how Mr. November bounces back from a physical pounding like that.

My favorite thing, though, was the defiant expression on T.O.'s face when he ran onto the field. The guy creates all this idiocy, then motivates himself with the belief that he's going to teach the world a lesson. It would be funny if it weren't so sad. The three catches for 38 yards didn't exactly make his case.

T.O.'s performance was perfect. They threw him the ball, and he dropped it right on cue. Timing really is everything.

I also enjoyed the on-field postgame interview with T.O., Jason Witten and Romo. There's nothing like a forced, awkward huddle on live television to get everyone back on the same page. I'm surprised they didn't hug just to make their "everything is peachy" spin a little more obvious.

That awkward little huddle was all the more delightful because no one could hear Andrea Kremer. Romo leaned in as if he was trying to hear someone's dying words from a hospital bed. Couldn't they have gotten her a step stool or something to stand on?

Hey, guys. Did you miss me? I can't properly express how much I missed these little slices of journalistic heaven.

The last time we scribbled, it was the Kevin Kolb era in Philadelphia, I believe, so the Giants going from steamroller to steamed rice doesn't surprise me. Phil's right. They're in. One more win and they have a bye. Sunday night wasn't that interesting for them.

There's the Bob Ford we know and love. You're back for five minutes, and you're already teasing us with stories you won't share. T.O. would find that so unprofessional.

But did you miss me, Johnzo?

Depends. What kind of trinkets did you bring back from your vacation?
