High Schools - Catholic League in running for Carpenter Cup

Since only four of the 16 Carpenter Cup Classic's entrants get to do so, advancing to Citizens Bank Park is a nice accomplishment.

Since only four of the 16 Carpenter Cup Classic's entrants get to do so, advancing to Citizens Bank Park is a nice accomplishment.

Now comes the chance to make more than a pit stop.

The semifinals and final in the 24th annual Carpenter Cup Classic are scheduled for today and tomorrow at CBP, and the Catholic League, logic dictates, has as good a chance as anybody.

In the first two rounds, the CL topped Chester County, 9-2, and Mercer County, 11-9. Today's foe, in the 2 o'clock daycap of a twinbill, will be Suburban One National/Bicentennial. The 10 a.m. opener will feature Suburban One American/Continental vs. Burlington County.

The championship will be decided tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The CL won crowns in 1987, 1990 and 2005. *
