A fire ripped through the Bordentown Regional School District's bus yard this morning, damaging or destroying 11 buses and vans, officials say

The blaze — the cause of which is under investigation — forced the district to close four of its  five schools today. Bordentown Regional High School was opening two hours late, but without transportation.

Closed were the Clara Barton Elementary School, MacFarland Intermediate School, Peter Muschal Elementary School and Bordentown Regional Middle School.

The school district said the fire in the yard on the campus of the middle school on Dunns Mill Road damaged or destroyed three 54-passenger buses and eight vans.

More details are expected later.
