A new shuttle will take you to wineries and breweries in lower Cape May County

Destinations will include Hawk Haven Vineyard, Cape May Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Turdo Vineyards, Nauti Spirits, Cape May Brewery, and more.

If you’ve ever dreamed of a daylong tour of wineries and breweries in Cape May County, without having to worry about designated drivers, parking, or rideshare apps, a new shuttle service has you covered this summer.

The Coastal Cruiser, a new “hop-on hop-off shuttle service” will service the lower Cape May County area, including the Wildwoods and Cape May. It will run on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, according to a press release from Metropolis Passenger Logistics.

The Coastal Cruiser will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a day pass costing $40 in advance or $45 at the shuttle. According to Metropolis, the shuttle will have stops at the Wildwood Boardwalk, downtown Cape May, and the Cape May Lewes Ferry. Destinations will include Hawk Haven Vineyard, Cape May Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Turdo Vineyards, Nauti Spirits, Cape May Brewery (tastings at the Cape May Municipal Airport), Mudhen Brewery, and Behr Brewing Company.

Michael Barreto, Founder & President at Metropolis Passenger Logistics, said the cruiser fills a void in the region while also catering to the growing brewery, winery, and distillery scene there.

“Having been a homeowner in Wildwood for a few years now, I realized that there was a disconnect of commuter services and transit services between the Shore towns like Cape May and Wildwood,” said Barreto. “I felt that there is a huge demand in these communities for micro-shuttles, and I’m excited that we can create this opportunity.”

In 2023, the Inquirer wrote about Cape May’s growing popularity as a bachelorette party destination, particularly its wineries. One event director told the Inquirer his winery can see up to 30 bachelorette parties on a Saturday.

Coastal Cruiser shuttles, according to Metropolis, will arrive every 20 to 30 minutes at each stop and can be tracked in real time through a live mobile app. The shuttles will also include bike racks.
